Admission Criteria
New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center is committed to providing effective, comprehensive residential treatment services to children and adolescents. Programming is designed to address the diverse and specialized needs of the multi-faceted problems of youth.
Specific admission criteria are as follows:
- Adolescent males and females, ages 10 through 21 years
- Adjudicated or non-adjudicated (i.e. sexual acting-out behaviors) as a sexually reactive youth (sexual offenders)
- Substance abuse/addiction history (secondary diagnoses)
- Behavior problems, unruly, conduct disorder
- IQ 60 or above; Juvenile sex offenders 70 or above
- All youth may be interviewed in order to determine appropriateness for placement
Education Services
Educational Services Program
New Beginnings has partnered with Westwood Preparatory Academy to provide an innovative, therapeutic-based learning environment to address the many facets of a child’s development in a classroom setting within the facility.
- Designed to meet the needs of the child as his or her development level
- Special education services orchestrated by on-site coordinator
- Programs are customized to meet the needs of the students
- Credit recovery, credit flex, drop-out prevention, GED and college prep offered
- Supportive of Trauma Informed Care and education by NME trained staff
- Ohio Department of Education Guidelines are followed

- Genesight Testing – a cheek swab to test and analyze your child’s genes to help his or her healthcare provider select which medications are more likely to work better for your child and less likely to cause unwanted side effects

Outpatient Behavioral Health Services
New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center offers outpatient behavioral health services including mental health and alcohol and drug services to children, adolescents and adults. These services include counseling and case management to local clients and youth that have been discharged from the residential treatment program for continuity of care. Individual, group, family therapy, available for the following specialized services:
